Net banking is used to making online payments like paying utility bills such as water bills and electricity bills, making merchant payments, transfer funds, buy insurance, recharge prepaid mobile/DTH. Net banking can also be used to pay your credit card bills and loan EMI every month. You can login to the net banking facility that is provided by your bank. You would just have to enter your credentials and you will be able to make use of all the banking facilities provided by your bank online.

There are also different types of net banking transactions that can be made through different mediums:

  • National Electronic Fund Transfer - Any individual or company can make fund transfers, where one-on-one fund transfers are also allowed
  • Real Time Gross Settlement - This fund transfer system transfers money from one bank to any other bank on a “real-time” and on “gross” basis
  • Electronic Clearing System (ECS) - This system used for paying utility bills such as electricity bills, telephone bills, credit card or loan payments, etc
  • Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) - Mobile phones are used to make these fund transfers
