If you wish to increase your Amex credit card limit you can request the same on your personal or small business (OPEN) card. American Express makes it easy for credit cardholders to place a request for a credit limit increase online directly on the American Express website.
- All you have to do is log in to your account and choose the card you would like to request the increase on. Make sure that you choose the right credit card.
- Now click on “Account Services” from the main toolbar at the top of your screen.
- Under the Card Management tab, select “Increase Your Credit Limit”.
- Fill in the credit limit amount you are requesting plus your annual income, complete the request by clicking the continue option.
You can request a credit limit increase once your account has been opened for a minimum of 60 days. Also note that Amex, like some other issuers, will automatically increase credit limits from time to time. If you regularly use a lot of your credit limit and then pay the outstanding balance on time, you have greater chances for being approved for an auto credit limit increase.
