Grievance Redressal for Personal Loan-Related Queries

If borrowers have any complaints or issues with the customer service department, they take the following steps to get the issue resolved.

Level 1: File a Complaint at the Home Branch

If customers are not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint by the customer care team, they can visit their home branch to get the issue addressed. Most banks allow borrowers to meet the Branch Manager for any complaints or feedback during working hours. Some banks also have specific “Customer Days,” which usually falls around on the 15th of every month, when customers can meet the top officials and executives of the bank. Different banks have varying time schedules within which they resolve customer complaints.

Level 2: Approach the Grievance Redressal Officer 

If the resolution offered in Level 1 was not up to the satisfaction of the customer, he/she could escalate the issue further to the Grievance Redressal Officer of the bank. Customers can connect with the Grievance Redressal Officer using any of the following channels:

  • Email 
  • Writing to the bank

Make sure to share details of the previous complaint made like the complaint number, any replies from the bank and other information at this stage, for speedier resolution of your query.

Level 3: Contact Nodal Officers

If the resolution offered in Level 2 is not up to your satisfaction, you can approach the Principal Nodal Officer of the bank using any of the following channels:

Level 4: Avail the Service of the Banking Ombudsman 

If the issue remains unresolved even after taking the above steps, customers can get in touch with the Banking Ombudsman service offered by the RBI (Reserve Bank of India). If the customer has not received a response from the bank after thirty days of filing the complaint, he/she can reach out to the Banking Ombudsman for escalation of the issue.
