A change of residence, phone number and email Id are sometimes unavoidable. It is important that the changes are rightly reflected on the credit cards you use in order to facilitate swift communication between you and the credit card company. You can change the address, phone number or Email Id for correspondence for SBI credit cards both online and offline. 

Following are the procedures to carry out the changes.

How to update my address, Email ID and phone number in my SBI credit card?

You can update the current residence for your credit card account online. Following is the procedure:

Updating Through Official Website

Contact Number & Email Id

  • Visit the official website of SBI and log in to your credit card account using the credentials.
  • Go to ‘My Profile and click on ‘Quick Contacts’
  • Update your Email Id and contact number
  • You will now receive an OTP to your mobile number
  • Confirm with the OTP and submit the form

Address

  • Go to ‘My Profile’ after logging in to your credit card account using the credentials
  • Click on ‘Address’ and start entering your personal address details
  • You can choose to set your personal address the same as the official address or fill up the details for the official address.
  • You will now receive an OTP to your recently updated contact number.
  • Enter the OTP and confirm the changes to be made
  • Click on ‘Submit’ for the changes to take place

 

Updating Through Mobile App

Every credit card issuer has a mobile app that lets you access all the banking services. You can download the mobile app of SBI and update your contact details such as Email Id, contact number and address just right from your mobile phone. Following are the steps to update the details on the mobile app:

  1. Login to SBI Card mobile app
  2. Click on the ‘Menu’ tab on the top hand side of the screen
  3. Go to ‘My Profile,’ and click on the edit icon next to the mobile number
  4. Generate OTP
  5. Enter the OTP received on the old registered number & click on ‘Submit’
  6. Your personal details such as an address, email or mobile number will be changed as per your request.

Updating Through Email

SBI lets you send an email about your intention to change the contact details. To do that, you need to log in to your SBI credit card account using your credentials. You will be asked to write an email about the changes of your phone number, email id and address. To support the change, you need to enclose the self-attested KYC documents. The document should be valid on the current date and self-attested. You need to mention your registered email Id and registered mobile number in the body of the email or on the KYC documents. 

Apart from logging in to your credit card account and sending an email, you can also download the Address Change Declaration Form and enclose it with the current residential address and send them at addressproof(at)sbicard(dot)com. 

After sending an email with the address proof and declaration form, you need to send a courier of both to the following address.

How to Update Details Through Chatbot ILA?

ILA is a virtual chatbot that answers all your queries on SBI’s various banking products and services. Going one step higher, ILA also lets you update your mobile number and email Id for all correspondence related to your credit card account. Following are the steps involved:

To update mobile number:

  1. Log in to Chatbot ILA with your SBI card Online User ID & Password
  2. Type query “How to change the mobile number?”
  3. Click on ‘Update Mobile Number’
  4. Enter the right mobile number and click on ‘Update Mobile Number’
  5. You will receive an OTP
  6. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Submit’ 

To update your Email Id:

  1. Log in to Chatbot ILA with your SBI card Online User ID & Password
  2. Type query “How to change Email ID?”
  3. Click on ‘Update Email Address”
  4. Enter the right Email Address and click on ‘Update Email Address’
  5. You will receive an OTP
  6. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Submit’

Individuals can also update their international mobile number through the website or Chatbot ILA by following the steps mentioned above. The international mobile number will be valid for only 90 days. 

How to Update Address, Email ID, and Phone Number in SBI Credit Card Offline?

If you are unable to change the contact details through the above methods or unfamiliar with the process, you may visit any nearby SBI branch and ask the executive to help you with the process. You will have to fill up a form with the details of your address, mobile number and email ID. After filling up the form, enclose the documents supporting the details along with the form and submit them to the officials. The changes may get reflected on your credit card account within 7 working days.

You can close your SBI Credit Card Account by writing to the bank or calling the SBI Card Helpline. Once an account closure request has been placed, you must ensure to cut your credit card(s) diagonally. Your cancellation request will result in the automatic termination of the add-on cards. Termination is effective once all the outstanding payments on the card account are complete.
