Timely payment of credit card bills is important. When it comes to paying a credit card bill on time, CRED is a platform that offers convenient and hassle-free methods to pay. The payment process is quick and you can make payments using netbanking, debit card, or UPI. Let us now understand why credit card bills should be paid on time and the different methods of paying credit card bills using CRED.

Why Should You Pay a Credit Card Bill on Time?

When you do not pay your credit card bill or do not make timely payments, you will face the following negative consequences.

  • Impact on Credit Score: Even missing one credit card payment has an adverse impact on your credit score and affects your creditworthiness. There are chances that your loans and credit cards will be rejected and also that lenders will offer a lower credit limit when your credit score is low. So, it is extremely important to make timely payments on your credit card bill.Check your credit score on CreditMantri and track the transactions which have impacted your score negatively.
  • If you default for more than 60 days on your credit card bill, the credit card issuer will charge a huge interest rate on the outstanding bill amount. Paying the credit card bill on time protects you from the high rate of interest.
  • Most credit card issuers hire debt collection agencies to recover unpaid bills. Once your account goes to these debt collection agencies for recovery, you will not have the privilege of making a minimum monthly payment any longer. If you pay your bills on time, you don’t have to deal with these debt collection agencies.
  • Credit card issuers can also charge a late fee and the amount will vary from issuer to issuer.
