Is your Credit Score >750?
A credit card comes in for both positive – wow no need to carry cash – and negative – you tend to overspend. With the new HSBC credit card reward points program though, the negative is mitigated. HSBC brings you reward points under its Rewards Program and Extra Points program. You earn one point for every purchase worth INR 100 and you can redeem these points against a host of products across a number of websites, shops, and retail outlets.
About HSBC Bank Credit Card Reward Points
Just swipe your HSBC credit card every time you make a purchase – that’s how simple it is to earn credit card reward points. Once you have collected sufficient points to make you eligible for redemption you can use the points to make further purchases or to pay your credit card bills. HSBC offers two ways to earn reward points –
These are points you earn simply by swiping your credit card. You can earn 1 point for every Rs. 100 you spend.
These are points you earn by spending at HSBC Extra Partner outlets. Though you still earn one point for every Rs. 100, when you add the extra points to your reward points, you get 150 reward points for every 100 extra points.
You can use your reward points to pay off part or whole of your credit card bill. You can also purchase a number of products against your HSBC credit card reward points. Here are the channels through which you can redeem your points -
1. Online Reward Points Redemption.
2. Reward Points Redemption through Post
You can redeem your HSBC Credit Card Reward Points by downloading the redemption form from the official website of the bank and sending it to their head office in Chennai – you will find the address on the bank website. You can also fax the form to the fax number given on the website.
3. Reward Points Redemption through Phone Banking Facility
You can redeem your reward points by calling the customer care number of the bank. The number is available on the bank website and the centre is open from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM. You will need to identify yourself with certain personal details such as date of birth, PAN number and so on. Once you identify yourself, a customer care executive will help you through the process of redemption and share an Order Id with you. Keep this id handy to track your request and for any future communication in this regard.
You can use your reward points to earn air miles. Air miles are a facility offered as a joint venture with Jet Airways, British Airways, and Singapore Airlines. This facility allows you certain rebates in your air fares. So if you travel frequently by air, the HSBC credit card can be extremely useful not only as a convenient mode of payment but also to help reduce your travel costs. Here is how you can use your reward points to buy air miles.
Download the redemption form, fill it out, sign, and send it to the Chennai Office of the bank.
Call the phone banking number and an executive will help you through the process.
Here are the current conversion rates for reward points against air miles for the respective airlines -
