Why should the taxpayers need to link Aadhar with the PAN card?

Failing to comply with the Supreme Court ruling of linking Aadhar with PAN card will be a problem for e-filing tax returns.

Linking Aadhar with Pan Card will help the country tackle multiple PAN cards issued under the single name. By linking, the taxpayer can get his/her summarized details of taxes attached to his unique identification number.

As Aadhaar card is based on biometrics, the chances of duplication are less. Moreover, the number of taxpayers in the country are very low when compared to the total population and PAN card holders. This move will help the government to keep a close watch on the tax evaders.

The government intends to have transparent financial transactions across the country, and it is our duty to render co-operation.
