How To Check The Validity Of Your PAN Card

  • Visit the official Income Tax e-filing website.
  • In the left menu bar, click on “Link Aadhar Status”.
  • Enter your PAN number and Aadhar number.
  • Click on “View Link Aadhar Status”.
  • A message will be displayed as to whether your PAN and Aadhar are linked.
  • Your PAN card is valid, if the PAN and Aadhar are linked.
  • If it is not linked, you have to pay a penalty of Rs 1,000 via Challan No ITNS 280 with Major Head 0021 and Minor Head 500.
  • The PAN and Aadhar can be linked by paying Rs 1,000 only until 31st March 2023.
  • Post which the PAN card becomes inoperative. 
  • PAN number which is the base for operating your DEMAT account, GSTIN, IEC Code, and various other statutory registrations becomes inoperative.
  • You can also check your PAN-Aadhar linked status by logging into your e-filing account.
  • On the top of the income tax e-filing page, click on “Login”.
  • Enter your PAN as the user id and the password.
  • Click the checkbox for confirming the secure access message.
  • On the top menu bar, click on your name and My Profile.
  • In the personal details section, you can find Aadhar Number - Linked or Not Linked.
