Verification of Labour Identification Number (LIN)

Entities associated with the Shram Suvidha Portal have a unique Labour Identification Number (LIN) that is provided at the time of registration to the portal. This LIN can be used by various Enforcement Agencies.

This portal provides for the verification and modification of the LIN and the entity information associated with the LIN.

Given below are the steps for such modification and verification of LIN under the Shram Suvidha Portal.

• First step for such verification and modification is registration of the entity or the employer at the Shram Suvidha Portal.
• After registration, the user will have to search their LIN at the portal if it already exists. This can be done through the ‘Know Your LON option’ available at the portal.
• If the LIN already exists, such Lin has to be linked to the establishment by choosing the ‘Link Establishment’ option.
• If the LIN is not already available on the portal, the user can create owned or represented organizations and then request for the LIN through the ‘Establishment’ option available in the menu of the portal after signing in.

Steps to Link an Establishment to an Account

The portal allows the user to link an establishment to a LIN. This is necessary to represent the establishment on the Shram Suvidha Portal and in order to become a representative of the entity that is currently served by another employer or agency.

Given below are the steps involved in registration and linking of the entity to the LIN.

• First step for such process is to login to the portal
• Next step is to search the LIN of the Entity to link it to the establishment.
• Establishment LIN can be checked through the ‘Know Your LIN’ option that is available in the settings option on the main page of the portal.
• After finding the Establishment LIN, the user will have to login to the portal in their Shram Suvidha Account.
• The user will require to enter the following details for such login
• User Id
• Password
• Verification Code

• After submitting all the relevant information, users will then have to click on the ‘Submit’ option
• Post logging into the Shram Suvidha Account, the user will have to click on the ‘Link Establishment’ option.
• Link establishment form will appear in the next page when the user enters the LIN and the previous representative contact details.
• These registered contact details are the registered mobile number and the registered email id.
• If there is no registered mobile number and former representative, they can fill the LIN and then choose the ‘Generation Authorization Letter’ option.
• After this the user will have to approach the regional head with the letter that has been generated from the above step.

After the Labour Identification Number (LIN) is linked with the establishment data, such user can see an increase in the number of entities or establishments that have been linked or represented. Such information is available on the home page of the establishment in the establishment list.

Filing Annual Returns using Shram Suvidha Portal

Shram Suvidha Portal allows the user to file a single online return under many labour laws. This portal allows the annual return of the employees to be filed through the portal as well. This facility requires the users to meet certain pre-conditions to be eligible to submit the annual returns.

These pre-conditions are mentioned below.

• The first and foremost condition is that the employer or the establishment representative has to be registered at the Shram Suvidha Portal to be able to file the online return.
• The establishment representative should have a verified LIN to proceed further. 
• An establishment can search the LIN through the ‘Know your LIN’ option on the main page of the Portal under the link Home>> Know Your LIN
• If the LIN already exists, the user has to link the LIN to the establishment which can be done by selecting the ‘Link Establishment’ option.
• This option is available after logging into the portal on the left side of the main page
• In case no LIN is available, the user must create owned or represented establishments and request LIN from them the ‘Establishment’ option that is available at the left side of the menu after logging in.
• Shram Suvidha Portal allows the establishment representatives to file annual returns only relating to the Central Government Acts.
