Section A needs you to input all the EPF details. In Section B, mention all your details. In the final section, mention your grievance in detail. Steps to Fill EPF Grievance Registration Form

The grievance registration form has three sections in total:

Section A

This section contains all the EPF details. Under this, you have to input all the details about the Employees' Provident Fund account. Here are some of the required details:

  • EPF Status: You must mention the status of EPF account. You will find a drop-down menu and you can choose the appropriate option from this. Some of the options include EPF member, EPF pensioner, Employer, etc. You can select one which is related to your grievance.
  • PF Number: Once you have mentioned your EPF Status, you can proceed to the next section. Mention some of the key details such as office code and region code under this section. PF Number helps in easily identifying and addressing your complaints. Here is some of the information required under this section - office code, region code, establishment code, account number and extension. Most of this information should be available in your salary slip. Another way to get this information is by logging into UAN Portal by providing your registered UAN number and searching for the same.
  • PF Office: After mentioning all the details, you will be redirected to another page where you will need to choose an office that manages your PF account. This is essential while dealing with your EPF complaint. You can ask your employer to provide this information if it is not readily available with you.
  • Next, you need to mention the organisation’s name and address that you work in. After completing this section, you can begin filling up the next section, which pertins to personal information.

Section B

To proceed with filing your complaint, there are certain personal details that you will have to provide under this section. Here is the information that you will have to provide:

  • Name of the Complainant: Mention your full name in this heading.
  • Address of the Complainant: Provide your address under this section. Ensure that you state the correct address as per any documented proof that is available with you.
  • Pin Code: State your pin code under this section.
  • Phone Number and Mobile Number: This is not an essential requirement. You can try to ensure that you provide an active phone number since all your updates will be delivered to the stated number. The progress of your EPF complaint can be easily tracked by stating a correct and active phone number.
  • Email ID: Email ID must also be active to receive updates on time. All the updates regarding EPF complaints will also be shared on the stated email id.

Grievance Details

After filling in your details, you can begin filling the grievance form. The sections included under this category are as below:

  • Grievance Title: Under this, you will need to mention the Grievance category that you want to get resolved. From the drop-down menu, you can choose the Grievance title that suits your concern.
  • Grievance Description: Under this category, you will have to provide an elaborate description of your complaint. You can describe it in your own words and ensure that it is clear and crisp. A maximum of 5000 words is allowed to describe your complaint under this section. In case you are short of time to provide details of the complaint, you can also attach a PDF document. You can attach the PDF along with a written complaint. This will help the authorities to get the necessary details around your complaint.
  • Captcha Code: Provide the captcha code that is displayed on the screen. This helps in ensuring appropriate security while entering the complaint.

After filling up all the required information, you can click on the “Submit” button. This will ensure that your grievance is registered. After you have submitted your grievance, you will receive a unique registration number on your registered mobile number and email id. You can save this number and make use of it to keep track of the progress.

How to check the status of your EPF grievance?

You can keep a track of the status of your complaint at all times. The unique registration number that is sent to you once you submit the grievance form can be used in checking the status. Here are the steps to be followed for checking grievance resolution status on the portal:

  • Search for the option that says "Check Status." You will see this option available on the home page.
  • Next, enter the registration number along with the mobile number/ email address.
  • Captcha code will appear on the screen. Enter this in the relevant section and then click Enter.
  • Once this is done, you will see the status of your grievance application on the screen.

Make use of the Reminders Feature for EPF Grievances

For a faster grievance resolution, an employer can make use of the "Send Reminder" provision for sending a notice to the EPFO. This can be done in case the EPFO is taking a long time to resolve the issue. "Send Reminder" option can be found on the menu bar of the EPF i-grievance management system. After you click on this option, you will be asked to input your registration number and password. After entering the captcha code, press enter. This will allow you to proceed towards sending a reminder to EPFO.
