The process of net banking registration of the bank is a simple and straightforward one. The detailed steps of the registration process for the net banking account are mentioned hereunder.

  • The first step towards registration is going to the link for the same at the bank’s website (www[dot]iobnet[dot]co[dot]in).
  • For registering as an individual user or a proprietary firm, the user has to click on the link ‘Register Individual’ and for corporate registration, the user has to click on ‘Register Corporate’.
  • After registration, the user will have to submit the application for the same at the branch where the user has his/her account.
  • The user will have to hold an active email id as well as an active mobile number for completing the registration process.
  • The net banking account will be activated upon receipt of an application for the same by the branch office.
  • The password/PIN generated for registration to the Net banking account has to be kept secured and not shared with anyone.

  • The user can login through the net banking account of the bank by clicking on the net banking portal of the bank.
  • The user will have to fill in the user id and password generated at the time of registration to the net banking account.
  • The user will then have to select from the available options the mode that he/she wishes to start in. The list of options available are

    • Remittances
    • Edit profile
    • BBPS
    • Tax payments
    • IOB Cards
    • Utility Payments
    • IPO

The options available for corporate login are limited. The corporate does not get the option to start in IOB cards mode or IPO mode.

  • The password and PIN to the net banking accounts are for different purposes. The password is used to login to the net banking account and PIN is used to transfer the funds.
  • The account of the user can be attempted to login for a limited number of times. The account will be blocked if the user fails to enter the correct user id or password for a consecutive number of times.
  • The user can then contact the branch of the bank for unblocking the net banking account and get access again.

Features and services offered by IOB Net Banking Account

The net banking account of the bank provides a number of services that are highly beneficial to the customers of the bank.

  • The user can transfer or receive funds with absolute ease via the net banking facility offered by the bank.
  • The user can get many details relating to their account, for example,
    • Details of last transactions
    • Cheque book request

How to reset the password to IOB Net Banking

The user can change the password to the net banking account multiple times or when he/she has forgotten the password to the net banking account. The process for resetting the password to the net banking account is detailed here.

  • The link to reset the password is available on the login page to the net banking account on the right corner under ‘Assistance’
  • The user will have to provide the following details to proceed with resetting the password to the net banking account
    • Login Id
    • 15 Digit Account number
    • Email Id registered with the bank
    • Verification code displayed on the screen also has to be entered correctly in order to proceed.

The corporate users will also have to enter the ‘user id’ along with the ‘login id’.

  • The user will then get an OTP on his/her registered mobile number which will have to be entered in the next screen in order to validate the request to reset or generate a new password.
  • The user will have to then enter the new password which has to be a combination of alpha-numerics and cannot be the same as any of the previous passwords. The user will have to enter the password twice for confirmation and then submit the same.
  • The new password to the net banking account will then be set and can be used by the user to login to the net banking account.

Transfer of Funds via IOB Net Banking

The ease in transfer of funds is one of the most important features of a bank’s net banking facility. The IOB net banking allows transfer of funds within the bank (between a person’s own accounts or third party account) or to another bank (own account or third party account).

The process of transfer through the net banking feature is detailed below.

  • The user has to successfully login to the net banking account with the user id and the password to initiate the transfer of funds to any account.
  • The user can transfer funds to an account only if that account is already added as a beneficiary. The net banking account has a cooling period after adding a new payee and funds transfer can be effected only after such cooling period is finished.
  • After logging in to the net banking account the user has to click on ‘remittances’
  • Thereafter, the user will have to choose ‘funds transfer’ and click on ‘Other Bank-NEFT and then ‘Proceed’.
  • The user will have to input the details of the account from where the funds have to be transferred as well as the account to which the funds have to be transferred along with the amount of such transfer and then click on ‘proceed’
  • The user will then have to enter the PIN to authenticate the fund transfer and choose the ‘transfer funds’ option.
  • The user will then be asked to enter the OTP which will be sent to the registered mobile number of the user.
  • Up on validating the transaction with the OTP entered, the transfer will be processed and the user will get a confirmation for the same along with the transaction details like transaction number, date of transfer, payee details, etc.

Payment of Credit Card Bill via IOB Net Banking

The net banking portal of IOB can be used by the user to make payment of credit card dues of any bank. The process of such payment is mentioned here.

The user will first have to log into the net banking portal and add the credit card as a beneficiary/payee for funds transfer. Once the credit card added as beneficiary is activated after the cooling off period, the user can make the payment for the credit card bill.

  • After logging into the net banking account, the user will have to go to the funds transfer section and choose the NEFT option to process the transfer.
  • The user will be required to fill the following information correctly
    • Name of destination bank
    • IFSC code
    • Name of destination branch
    • Destination account number (16 digit credit card number)
    • Amount to be transferred (paid)
    • Transaction code
  • The user will then have to confirm the filled in details on the next page.
  • The user will also have to fill in the registered mobile number to receive the OTP.
  • The transfer will have to be authenticated by submitting the received OTP.
  • Once the transfer is validated, the user will receive a confirmation message for the same.
