Net banking is the service provided by the bank under it digital banking services. Net banking is the common name used for internet banking. Bank of India provides internet banking services to its customers having savings bank account and current bank account with the bank. The bank requires the account holders to mandatorily register for the net banking services to be able to access them.

What is the process of registration for net banking in Bank of India?

Bank of India provides online and offline modes of registration for net banking services of the bank. The details of each process of registration explained below.

Offline mode of registration

The offline mode of registration requires the applicants to physically visit the branch of the bank. The applicants can get the application form for net banking registration from the branch office. This application form for net banking has to be duly filled, signed and submitted to the branch office. The application will be reviewed by the bank authorities for validating the net banking request. Once the application is found to be correct and acceptable, the bank will sanction the application. The account holders will then be sent a user id and a password through SMS or through registered post at their address. They can then use this user id and password to log in to the net banking account.

Online mode of registration

The online banking of Bank of India can be done through StarToken which is a secured app provided by the bank that can be used in laptops, mobiles, tablets, desktops, etc.

The steps for the online mode of registration for net banking are explained below.

  • Keep the activation credentials handy for activation of the StarToken app for the first time.
  • Visit the Bank of India’s Retail Internet Banking website and log in using the credentials. Customer will be redirected StarToken-NG window
  • At this window, the customer will have to click on “Download Now” to download and install StarToken on the computer
  • StarToken Installer will be downloaded on the computer after the above step. The customer will have to double click on the StarToken installer to install StarToken on the machine. The next step is to click on “Run” to proceed further
  • After successful installation StarToken Shortcut can be found on the  Desktop
  • Post this, the customer will have to double click on the StarToken icon on the desktop to start the application
  • The next step is to Double click on the StarToken icon on the desktop to start the application
  • Customers will have to click on LOG IN to proceed and then enter the Internet Banking User ID finally clicking on "Submit."
  • This will display the verification key which has to match the key sent to the customer by the bank.
  • If the key matches, the customer will have to select the "verification key is correct" option and then enter the ACTIVATION CODE and submit
  • In case the verification key does not match, the customer will have to Click on 'Exit' and call the Bank of India Customer Call Center for further help (if the verification key is lost, it can be regenerated by selecting the ‘Generate Verification key’ option
  • The customer will then have to set the security question and answer which is needed for additional security and authentication.
  • The customer can finally set a 4 digit PIN and access the StarToken application.
  • After successfully setting the credentials customers will see the CONTROL PANEL with various buttons
  • Customers will have to click on the ‘Star Connect Button’ which will launch your Internet Banking Service in a Secure Internet Banking App-Viewer
  • The User id will be populated and the account holder has to enter the password to access internet banking
