What is a Personal Loan?

Personal loans are one of the basic products offered by any bank. They are the quickest and the easiest mode of loans available in the market without any hassles and lengthy documentation and verification process.

Details of Corporation Bank Personal Loan

The personal loans offered by Corporation Bank is at easy affordable rates of interest with minimum documentation to enable the customers meet their genuine personal needs like medical emergencies, wedding in the family, travel plans, renovation plans for their home, etc. Customers can find some of the details of the personal loans offered by the bank here.

• The eligible customers for such loans are the permanent employees of Central /State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Research Institutions, Public Limited/Private Limited Companies, employees having their salary routed through the bank, pensioners having their pension account with the bank and other non-salaried individuals having a regular relationship with the bank.
• The minimum and maximum loan amount that can be disbursed under this scheme is Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 3,50,000 respectively for a maximum tenure of 60 months (5 years). The amount of loan disbursed in each case will depend on the class of the individual (salaried/Non-salaried/pensioner) as well as the length of their relationship with the bank.
• The rate of interest for such loans ranges from 10.75% to 12.25% (applicable from November 2019) and depends on the credit score as well as the relationship of the customer with the bank.
• The bank charges a nominal processing fee of 1.5% of the loan amount (maximum Rs. 500) at the time of sanctioning of the loan.
• The bank also requires a co-obligation or third party guarantee as per its policy to sanction the loan and has no prepayment charges or any margin requirements.

Grievance Redressal

Corporation Bank has three levels of escalation within its system. The following are the levels of escalation available to the customer if he/she has to report any issue or raise any query.

Level 1 – 

The primary level of escalation is where the customer raises the complaint or issue with the customer care of the Bank or at the Bank’s Branch to Branch Manager. The tracking id is generated at this point which has to be mentioned in all future correspondence. Customers can expect a response within 7 working days of filing the complaint or grievance.

Level 2 –

If the response received by the customer from the Branch Manager is unsatisfactory or if the response is not received in due time, such customer can contact the Customer Relation Officer at the Zonal Level. The response at this stage is to be received within15 working days of raising the complaint to the Zonal Level.

Level 3 –

The customer can further escalate the complaint/grievance to the Nodal Officer and the Chief Grievance Redressal Officer at the Head office as appointed by the Bank in this regard.

If after exhausting the above channels of addressing the issue, the customer has still not received a satisfactory response or the response is not received in due time, the customer can contact the Banking Ombudsman appointed by RBI.
