What is Personal Loan?

Personal Loans are the quickest and easiest loans that a customer can procure for his/her immediate financial needs. These loans are usually without any collateral and with minimum documentation.

Bank of Maharashtra Personal Loan Details

Bank of Maharashtra offers easy personal loans to its customers, for a maximum period of 5 years, for any kind of purpose as long as it does not involve speculation. The details of personal loans offered by Bank of Maharashtra are as follows.

Eligibility –

  • The bank has a detailed list of criteria to determine the eligibility of the applicant seeking a personal loan.
  • The applicant has to be between the age of 21 years and 60 years (at the time of maturity of the loan)
  • The applicant has to have a minimum income of Rs. 3,00,000 (ITR return of Form 16 of the previous 2 years has to be provided along with the application)
  • The employees of Central/State Government, Public Sector Units, Joint Stock Companies, Government Educational Institutions, and Government aided Educational Institutions. Employees of Corporates, Public Limited, and Private Limited Companies/MNCs are also eligible for securing a personal loan from the bank provided such employees should have a salary account with the bank, and such company or MNCs have to be listed, operational and profit-making entity.
  • The applicant has to have a salary account with the Bank and should not shift the same without getting clearance for the same. If the applicant has a new salary account with the bank, such an account has to reflect a credit of a minimum of 3 month’s salary for the applicant to be eligible for a personal loan.

Amount of loan to be sanctioned – 

  • The amount of loan that can be sanctioned depends upon the gross annual income of the applicant as per the latest income tax return or Form 16. The details of the range of gross annual income and the amount of maximum loan that can be availed thereof can be found on the bank’s official website.
  • The amount of loan that can be sanctioned is the lower of the maximum loan that can be issued or 10 times the gross monthly income of the applicant.
  • Rate of Interest on the personal loans offered by Bank of Maharashtra ranges from 10.85% to 11.85% depending on the credit score of the applicant.
  • Bank also charges a processing fee and a documentation fee for every application.

Grievance Redressal

The customer care service of the bank is the first point of approach for the customers to raise any concerns or complaints or get any information regarding the personal loans offered by the bank. The bank has three levels of escalation of the complaints raised by a customer.

  • At the initiation of the complaint, the issue is first referred to the Branch Manager for immediate redressal.
  • If at the previous stage the matter remains unresolved, it is taken to the concerned Zonal head as appointed by the bank
