What is Personal Loan?

Personal loans are quick and easy form of loans that the customers can avail for their immediate financial needs. These loans require minimum documentation and are usually collateral free. The maximum tenure for personal loans is 5 years (60 months)

Details of Bank of Baroda Personal Loan

The maximum amount of personal loan that an individual can avail is up to Rs. 10,00,000 (in case of Urban areas and Metro areas) and Rs. 5,00,000 (in case of Rural areas). The details of personal loans offered by Bank of Baroda are as follows.

Eligibility:

  • Bank of Baroda provides the list of eligible individuals on its official website that can avail the personal loan. The details of the same are provided here under.
  • Employees of following entities having a minimum continuous service of 1 year,

Government employees (State/Central), Autonomous bodies, Public or private sector or Joint sector Employees, MNCs. Educational Institutions, Proprietorship, Partnership firms, Trusts

  • Insurance Agents having business for a minimum of 2 previous years
  • Following persons having a stable business for a minimum of 1 year,

Practicing CAs and CSs, Engineers, Designers, Self Employed Business persons, etc.

The age criterion for the above persons is minimum 21 years and maximum 60 years of age in case of salaried individuals and 65 years for non-salaried individuals at the time of maturity of such loan.

Rate of Interest:

The rate of interest on personal loans starts from 11% and is calculated on the basis whether the applicant has an account with the bank or not. If the applicant has an account with any of the branches of the Bank then the rate of interest charged on personal loan will be slightly lower in comparison to a case where the applicant does not have an account with the bank. The bank also charges a nominal processing fee at the time of application of personal loan which amounts to 2% of the loan amount subject to a minimum of Rs.1,000 and a maximum of Rs. 10,000.

Other Important Features of Bank of Baroda Personal Loan:

  • Customers can avail the personal loans for any purpose. The bank does not specify any criteria or conditions with regards to the purpose of seeking a personal loan as long as the purpose is not a speculation (investing in stocks, shares, property or betting/lottery, etc.)
  • Bank of Baroda does not consider joint applications (i.e., co-applicants) while granting a personal loan. Loans sought in individual capacity only are considered for approval.
  • The bank levies a penalty of 2% interest on overdue amount of personal loan in case of defaults in repayment.
  • Bank of Baroda has no charges for pre-closure or part-repayment of the loan.

Grievance Redressal

Bank of Baroda has a systematic grievance redressal process. There are 4 levels of escalation of customer’s grievances with the internal system of the bank.

Level 1:- This is the initiation of customer grievance/complaint wherein the customer lodges the complaint with the bank through either of the bank channels i.e.,

  • Online Complaint Management System – SPGRS
  • Through a Contact Centre
  • Directly in the bank branch

The said complaint is initiated and the customer is provided with a Unique Tracker ID that has to be quoted in all future correspondences.

Level 2:- This is the next stage of escalation of the customer’s grievance in case it has not been resolved at Level 1 or if the response received is unsatisfactory. The complaint in this case is taken to the Regional Level of the bank. The channels for the same are,

Level 3:- The customer in this stage of further escalation takes the said unresolved grievance to the Zonal Level of the bank, communicating the Unique Tracker Id provided to him in the first stage of the grievance redressal. The channels of such escalation are,

Level 4:- This is the final level of escalation available within the bank wherein the grievance is raised at the Principal Nodal Officer. The channels for this escalation are,
