What is a personal loan?

Personal loans are one of the quickest loans available in the market for individuals. These loans are usually without any collateral and for a maximum period of 5 years (60 Months).

Details of Axis Bank Personal Loan

Customers can avail the personal loans offered by the Bank with minimum documentation to a maximum amount of Rs. 15,00,000 as well as have their personal loans of other bank be transferred / converted to Axis Bank Personal Loan even if they do not hold an account with the bank. The bank also offers the facility of calculating the exact EMIs (equated monthly instalments) on its official website before availing the loan so as to have a fair idea of the repayment requirements. Following are the details regarding Axis Bank Personal Loans.

  • Eligibility – 

The persons who are eligible for the bank’s personal loans are salaried individuals (doctors, employees of public limited or private limited companies, Government employees as well as employees of Public Sector Undertakings, Central and Local Bodies), Public Limited and Private limited companies.

The additional requirements for the individuals are the age criterion of 21 years to 60 years (at the time of maturity of the loan) and a minimum net monthly income of Rs.15,000.

The documents requirements for the salaried individuals is a duly filled application form along with the required KYC documents as well as the Loan agreement that is duly signed with Standing Instructions (SI) request /ECS Forms.

  • Rate of Interest –

The rates of interest for personal loans are categorised into 2 categories on basis of the tenure of the loan sought i.e,

  • 12 months up to 36 months
  • Above 36 months.

The rate of interest ranges between 12% - 24% depending on various factors as well as bank’s discretion. The bank also levies certain charges for procuring the personal loan. The details of these charges can be found on the bank’s official website.

  • Centres to avail personal loan – 

Customers can get a loan ranging between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 15, 00,000 by going to the centres set up specially for such purpose other than contacting the customer care for the same. These centres are classified into 4 categories namely Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. The eligibility of the customers to avail the personal loan will depend on the location of the customer as classified above.

  • Customers can also download the forms from the bank’s official website and duly submit the filled form to avail the personal loan. The forms are also classified on the basis of the tenure of the loan sought.

Complaint/Grievance Redressal

Axis Bank has three levels of grievance redressal system for the customers to raise any complaint or query that they may have. Following are the details of the same.

  • Level 1 – 

This is the initiation of the customer’s complaint or query. The customers can contact the customer care through the toll free numbers or through emails as well as by going directly to the Branch. The customers will receive a Service Request Number which has to be used in all future correspondences. Also, customers are required to use the registered email ids to register their complaints (for non-Axis Bank Customers, service request numbers can be received only by registering the complaint through the toll free number).

  • Level 2 – 

Customers can contact the Nodal Officer (in case the response received from the previous level is unsatisfactory or if response is not received in due time) or Circle Nodal Officer (for Branch related grievances). Customers can also download the grievance form in this regard from the bank’s official website.

  • Level 3 –

This is the final level of escalation available within the Bank to address the customer’s grievances. The customers can contact the Principal Nodal Officer by sending an email or by downloading the grievance form available in this regard on the Bank’s official website.

After exhausting all the available channels if the customer has not received any satisfactory response or if the response is not received in due time, he/she can contact the Banking Ombudsman appointed by RBI in this regard.
