SVC Co-operative Bank was one of the earliest co-operative banks in India and was founded in 1906. The bank was formerly known as The Shamrao Vithal Co-operative Bank Limited. It was initially registered as a Co-operative Credit Society and was later transformed into a co-operative bank. One of the main founders of the bank, the Late Rao Bahadur Shripad Subbaroa Talmaki named the bank after his guru the Late Shamrao Vithal Kaikini. The bank established the first co-operative housing society in Mumbai (then known as Bombay) in 1915. The bank received the status of a “Scheduled Bank,” in 1988. In 2016, the deposits held at the bank crossed 13,000 crores. Today, the bank has nearly 200 branches spread across the country.

SVC Co-operative Bank Grievance Redressal Mechanism

SVC Co-operative Bank has put in place a grievance redressal mechanism to process and resolve customer complaints promptly. The grievance redressal process is as follows:

Level 1: Complaint Book available at each branch

SVC Co-operative Bank offers a complaint book at each branch for the convenience of customers and speedy resolution of complaints. All complaints noted in the complaint book are handled by the branch manager within four days.

Level 2: Divisional Manager at Zone Level

If the complaint noted in the book is not resolved within four days or is not up to the satisfaction of the customer, he/she can escalate the issue to the respective divisional manager at the zonal level.

Level 3: AGM/DGM 

If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily by the divisional manager, the customer can further escalate the issue to the respective AGM or DGM.

SVC Co-operative bank has eight zonal offices. These offices are headed by the divisional manager, assistant general manager or the deputy general manager. The customer can contact the zone where his/her home branch lies.
