There are various circumstances under which a consumer has to request the transfer of Bharatgas connection. Here are some of the scenarios and the steps to be followed under each:

Gas Connection Transfer to Family Member

• Bharatgas connection transfer can be done from the owner to following family members: Father, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, or Mother.
• To transfer the LPG connection to either of the family members, the recipient has to fill the KYC form along with a declaration form. The existing connection owner must provide KYC documents such as address proof and identity proof along with the mentioned forms.

Gas Connection Transfer to Non-Family

• The existing owner of the Gas connection can request for transfer of the connection to an individual other than family members.
• For transferring the ownership, the gas connection owner must fill the KYC Form and the declaration form. The owner must provide KYC documents such as address proof and identity proof along with the forms.
• These forms must be submitted to the nearest distributor of Bharatgas.

Gas Connection Transfer in the Absence of Owner’s Consent

• A gas connection can be transferred even if the individual to whom the gas connection is offered to be transferred has the SV equipment but there is no consent letter provided by the owner of the gas connection.
• For transfer of ownership, the owner must fill the KYC form along with the declaration form. The gas connection owner must provide KYC documents such as address proof and identity proof along with the forms.
• These forms must be submitted to the nearest Gas distributor for Bharatgas.

Gas Connection Transfer in Case of Connection Owner’s Death

• In case the Bharatgas connection owner meets an untimely death, his or her ownership may be transferred to a family member or relative as long as the recipient can furnish the death certificate of the original owner.
• For transferring the ownership, the applicant has to fill the KYC form along with the declaration form. The transfer applicant must provide KYC documents including address proof and identity proof along with the forms.
• These forms can be submitted at the nearest Bharatgas distributor office.

Gas Connection Transfer in the Absence of Documents

• If a person possesses the equipment from Bharatgas connection but does not have the needed documents that are required, he or she can still get the gas connection transferred.
• For transferring the ownership, the applicant must fill the KYC form along with the declaration form. The applicant must furnish address proof and identity proof as part of KYC documents and submit these with the needed forms.
• The forms must be submitted at the nearest Bharatgas distributor office.

Gas Connection Transfer Within City

If a Bharatgas connection consumer is moving into a new residence located in the same city, the gas transfer process is easy and he or she can follow below-mentioned steps:

• Reach out to your existing Bharatgas distributor and furnish the original Subscription Voucher (SV).
• The distributor will verify your SV and consumer number against the details on the official records.
• If verification can be done, you will be given a Transfer Advice (TA) that is generally valid for up to 3 months.
• After shifting your residence, the TA can be furnished to the new distributor office that is closest to your residence.
• Post this, the distributor issues a new consumer number amends his records with the same.

You don’t have to surrender your existing LPG cylinder and pressure regulator while moving homes within the same city. If you are shifting within the serviceable area of the present distributor, only the official residential address has to be amended in records. This means you will need to provide a proof of your new address and request your distributor to update the same.

Gas Connection Transfer Outside City

If a gas connection owner is moving residence to a different city altogether, then the below-mentioned steps must be followed for a transfer request:

• Reach out to your present Bharatgas distributor and furnish your DGCC booklet, SV, a gas cylinder and also pressure regulator.
• To get a Termination Voucher (TV) from your distributor, you must surrender your gas cylinder, SV and pressure regulator.
• Once done, the distributor will return/refund your deposit money and the TV.
• After shifting residence to a different city, reach out to the nearest Bharatgas distributor and furnish TV to begin the process of new gas connection.
• The distributor will provide a fresh SV and consumer number. You will also get a new DGCC booklet which will have these updated details.
• You will also be issued a new gas cylinder and pressure regulator.
