Documents Required for a New Connection

The documents that are required to be submitted for applying for a new connection are mentioned below.

Procedure to get a New Indane Gas Connection

The procedure to get a new Indane gas connection can be broadly classified into two categories namely the offline mode or the online mode to book a new connection. The details for each of the options are discussed below.

Offline Mode

  • The offline mode of booking a new Indane Gas connection required the customer to contact the nearest Indane Gas Distributor of the consumer. The consumer can locate the nearest distributor first to make an application for a new connection.
  • Customers can locate the nearest distributor by visiting the website of Indane Gas and conducting a search on its portal.
  • Alternatively, the customers can also contact the customer care service of Indane gas for assistance in locating their nearest Indane Gas Distributor.
  • After locating the nearest Indane gas distributor the consumer will have to submit the required documents and the completed and signed application form. The customer will also have to provide recent passport size photographs to complete the application process.
  • The distributor will confirm the receipt of the application by providing an acknowledgment either in person or via a message or email.
  • After confirmation of sanction of new connection, the customer can then collect their Indane LPG cylinder from the distributor.

Online modes

Consumers can also book a new connection of Indane Gas through multiple online modes. These options includes,

  • Online booking through ‘Sahaj’
  • Booking through Mobile application
  • Booking through a SMS
  • Booking through the IVRS

Online booking through Sahaj

‘Sahaj’ (e-SV) is the online application facility of Indane Gas to book a new gas connection. The customer will be issued a new gas connection after making the online payment for the same or for the refills as the case may be.

The consumer is then issued the e-SV that is an electronic subscription voucher. It has the details like the number of cylinders booked by the consumer, pressure regulators held by the consumer, etc, against the security deposit paid by him/her. This document is sent to the consumer through an email that is sent to his/her registered email id upon the sanction of the online LPG connection.

Procedure to book a connection via Sahaj

  • The consumer will first have to register for a new gas connection via the online registration portal of Indane gas
  • Registration will require submitting of the KYC documents along with the basic details like name, address, mobile number, etc.
  • This application will be duly verified and then will be sent to the respective distributor of the applicant’s area.
  • The consumer can subsequently proceed with the booking of the LPG cylinder after receiving the notification/confirmation for the same via email or SMS.
  • The consumer can complete the process of booking a new connection or a refill by making payment through any of the available channels like debit cards/credit cards, net banking, UPI payment
  • The customer also has the option to make the payment via cash to the registered distributor supplying the LPG cylinder at the time of delivery.

Procedure to apply for Refill of Indane Gas Cylinder via Sahaj

After successful registration, the consumer can easily book a refill for the gas cylinder via online mode of ‘Sahaj’. The procedure for the same is discussed below

  • Firstly, the customer will have to log into the Indane Gas website using the user id and password generated at the time of registration
  • The consumer will then have to provide in the following details to proceed with the booking

    • Time slot

Booking through Mobile Application 

  • Booking through the mobile application is a convenient way to book a new connection and a refill of the Indane gas cylinder.
  • The mobile application of Indane Gas, ‘IndianOil One’, is available for download from the Google Playstore or iOS.
  • After downloading, the customer will have to first register as a new user by providing basic information, attaching the required documents along with submitting the OTP received on the registered mobile number for authenticating and completing the registration process.
  • Post registration, the consumers can also book a refill for the cylinder or book a second cylinder through the mobile application after submitting the details like the consumer number, distributor details, preferred delivery time, mobile number, email id, etc.

Booking through SMS

  • The SMS facility of Indane Gas is very useful to book a refill of the cylinder via a simple SMS.
  • The registration is a must for such facility by sending a SMS in the following format
  • SMS IOC STD Code + Distributor’s Telephone Number Consumer Number
  • The above SMS has to be sent to the IVRS number applicable as per the City and the State.
  • After successful registration, for subsequent requests of refills the consumers can send the SMS IOC to the same number where the booking was made earlier.

Booking through IVRS

  • Customers can also use the IVRS mode of the company for booking a new connection as well as requesting further refills.
  • The IVRS made is available in three languages which also includes the regional language.
  • The customers are required to enter their consumer number and the distributor’s details like his number, telephone number, STD code, etc. to make the booking.

All Indane Gas customers will have to use the new IVRS number 7718955555 to book gas refills from 1st November 2020. Currently, Indane Gas customers use different IVRS numbers based on their location. The new number will be applicable pan-India and aims to provide a unified gas cylinder booking facility, across the country. Customers have to call the IVRS number from their registered mobile number. Once the call is connected, the customer will be asked to confirm their 16-digit customer ID. On confirmation of the customer ID, the refill booking will be made. If you have not registered a mobile number, you can use the same IVRS for one-time registration of your preferred mobile number.
