Introduction

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited(HPCL) supplies LPG through its brand name HP Gas. HP Gas is one of the biggest public sector LPG suppliers in our country. HP Gas has been supplying LPG gas for domestic and commercial purposes since 1955. The company has a vast customer base of over 85 million customers across the country and a huge network or over 6000 distributors.

The various services offered by HP Gas are:

Ways to Check HP Gas Booking Status

As mentioned above, the customers can check the status of their booking made for a new connection or the refill of the cylinder either through the online options available for the same or by contacting the local distributor or the gas agency directly.

Offline Mode (Physically visiting the local distributor or the gas agency office)

Contacting the local distributor or the gas agency is the most traditional method for checking the status of the booking made by the customer. The customer can check the status of the booking for the new connection or the refill by providing the reference number to the distributor.

The reference number is the number provided to the customer at the time of making an application for a new connection or at the time of booking a refill of the cylinder. The customer will have to provide the consumer number as well if requested by the distributor for further information needed. The distributor will provide the status of the booking made thereafter and the customer can also contact the agency for any other information or assistance needed.

Online Modes

There are a number of options available to check the status of their HP Gas booking, right from the comfort of their homes. The various online modes for checking booking status are discussed below:

Checking the status via website

Customers can visit the website of HP Gas at my[dot]hpgas[dot]in. Customers will have to first log in to the website for further access or to check the status of the booking. New customers will have to first register before they can login to the website. New users will have to provide their name, address, mobile number and the OTP to authenticate and validate the registration.

Post registration, customers can login to the website using the user id and password generated at the time of registration. The next step is to check the status of the booking by clicking on the tab ‘Order Status’ provided on the next page.

Checking the status via SMS

The SMS service of HP Gas enables the customers to book a refill and to track the same using the reference number provided at the time of booking. The customers will have to first register for this service. The registration format for the same is HP space DistributorPhoneNumberWithStdCode space ConsumerNumber

This SMS is to be sent to the “HP ANYTIME” Number of the state available at the website of HP Gas. The format of SMS for booking a refill is ‘HPGAS’ and to be sent to HP ANYTIME number of the respective state as well. The customer will receive the confirmation SMS for the booking made stating the cash memo number, cash memo date, type of cash memo (Subsidized or non subsidized) and also for delivery.

Checking the status via IVRS

The IVRS facility of HP Gas is available for registered and unregistered users as well. The IVRS facility is available in the local language, Hindi or English for the customers to choose from according to their convenience. Checking the status via Mobile application

The latest and the most convenient way to book a refill or a new connection or to check the status of the connection is through the mobile application of HP Gas. The mobile application of HP Gas known as ‘HPGas’ is available for download at the Google Playstore or the Apple Store for android phones and iphones respectively. After downloading the application, the customers will have to register first to proceed. The registration will require the customers to submit the following details:

  • Distributor Code 
  • Consumer number
  • Mobile number

The customers can then book a second cylinder or a refill or surrender their connection, apply for a transfer of the connection, change in the name of the connection holder, check the status of the booking, track the cylinder, etc.

2. Where can the customer get the KYC form?

The KYC form is available at the local distributor’s office at free of cost or at no charge and also at the website of HP Gas.

SV is the Subscription Voucher that is given to the customers at the time of getting a new connection with HP Gas.

4. Can the domestic LPG cylinder be used in Motor Vehicles?

No. The use of domestic LPG cylinders in motor vehicles is prohibited by law.

5. What is the amount of rebate available to customers in the event of collecting the cylinder directly from the agency?

The distributors have to deliver the LPG cylinders to the customer’s household as a routine or normal practice; however, in case of a notified emergency if the customer directly collects the cylinder from the agency, he/she is entitled for a rebate of Rs. 18 per refill.
