How to Fill in Form 16A

Fill in the following information in the downloaded Form 16:

  • The name and address of the deductor.
  • The TAN of the deductor.
  • The PAN of the deductor.
  • The information of four acknowledgment numbers.
  • The nature of payment.
  • The name of the deductee.
  • The PAN of the deductee.
  • The financial year.
  • The TDS deduction details, including the amount credited or paid, the date of credit or payment, the tax deducted at source, the surcharges, the education cess, the total tax deposited to the Income Tax Department, the cheque number or demand draft number, the BSR code of the bank branch, the date on which the tax was deposited, and the challan identification number/transfer voucher.

The TDS deduction details will reflect the following information:

  • Amount credited/ paid.
  • Date of credit or payment
  • Tax deducted at source.
  • Surcharges
  • Education cess
  • Sum of the tax deposited with the Income Tax Department.
  • Payment details: cheque or demand draft number if any
  • BSR code of the bank branch
  • Tax deposited date in DD/MM/YY format
  • Challan identification number/ transfer voucher
