1. Does the SBI FASTag have a validity period?

The validity of FASTag is unlimited. But the sticker comes with a 3-year guarantee. It is possible to use the same FASTag until the tag is read by the reader and not corrupted. If the reading standard depreciates due to wear and tear, please contact SBI FASTag customer care for a new tag at an additional cost.

2. What should I do if my SBI FASTag is debited twice at the toll plaza?

Do not worry if the FASTag is debited twice at the toll plaza. You can contact customer care, who will in turn raise the query with the NPCI system and resolve the matter.

3. What do I do if my SBI FASTag is not read by the scanner at the toll plaza?

In case the tag reader of the plaza is not working, no need to worry. The customer may pay the toll in cash and can pass through the toll plaza. In case the tag is not pasted correctly on the vehicle and so is unable to be read by the scanner, the customer may request the toll plaza worker to use the handheld device to read the tag and pass through the toll plaza. Or he may also choose to pay the toll by cash and then later affix the FASTag correctly. If the FASTag is affixed correctly and is still not read by the scanner, the customer may pay the toll in cash and pass through the toll plaza. After that, the customer may approach SBI Customer Care to inform the issue and the SBI’s Point of Sale holder will approach the customer and resolve the issue free of cost.

4. What if my FASTag account balance goes below the minimum required balance in the tag?

The customer can recharge their FASTag account either at the point of sale location of SBI or use online services i.e. internet banking or the customer portal provided by the bank to top up the FASTag wallet.

5. How to surrender/cancel my SBI FASTag?

In order to surrender or close your SBI FASTag account, you need to submit a written request for cancellation/surrender/closure of the tag and submit the existing Tag. If you want to replace a tag that is damaged due to wear or tear, the existing should be surrendered before placing a new request. You will be issued with a new tag at an additional fee.
