FASTag is the most effective solution to remove congestion at toll plazas. It uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to provide contact-less toll collection system at all National Toll Plazas. With an active FASTag affixed on your vehicle’s windscreen, you can cruise through toll plazas without stopping for cash transactions.
FASTag was launched by MORTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways), NHAI (National Highways Authority of India), IHMCL (Indian Highways Management Company Limited) and NPCI National Payments Corporation of India).
FASTags can be purchased from a number of public banks or commercial banks. Kotak Mahindra Bank issues FASTags with various features and benefits to its users. Users can apply for a Kotak Mahindra Bank FASTag at their nearest branch or online on the bank’s official website.

This will take you to the online form where you can fill your personal details and vehicle details to register for a FASTag.
Customers are required to submit the original as well as photocopies of the following documents to register for FASTag:
Customers have to submit the duly filled application form along with these documents. Please note that all relevant documents for FASTag should be in the name of the owner of the vehicle. If the car owner is not present at the time of application, the driver will need to submit his photo ID proof.
Once your registration has been successfully completed, the bank will send you a User ID & Password via SMS & email. You can use these credentials and login to your virtual account through the customer portal. Users can also use the ‘Generate OTP’ option by entering their mobile number in the User ID field.
Upon logging in to their FASTag e-wallet account, customers can recharge their wallet using credit card, debit card, Netbanking and other digital payments. Users can also recharge their FASTag wallet through their UPI apps.
FASTag has different tag charges based on the type of vehicle. However, Kotak Mahindra Bank is currently not charging any Tag Joining Fee.

1. Where can I use Kotak Mahindra Bank FASTag?
FASTag is presently operational at 400+ toll plazas across national highways. Planning is underway to include more toll plazas under the ambit of FASTag.
2. What is the validity of the FASTag?
The FASTag validity is for 5 years. Once you have purchased it, you only need to recharge or top up FASTag as per your requirement.
3. I have two vehicles; can I use the same FASTag for both vehicles?
No, you will need to buy two separate FASTags for each vehicle.
4. Is there a dedicated lane at the toll plaza for FASTag vehicles?
Yes, there are separate lanes demarcated for FASTag users to allow for quick movement of vehicles.
5. How do I report an incorrect deduction on my FASTag?
You can report any incorrect deduction to the Kotak Mahindra Bank Customer Care Helpline number mentioned on the FASTag. FASTag team will investigate the matter and if found correct, will reverse the incorrect deduction to the account
6. What do I do in case of a lost/ damaged RFID Tag? What will happen to the account balance?
In case you have lost or damaged your FASTag, you need to call the Kotak Mahindra FASTag customer care. A new tag will be issued. It will be linked to your old tag account and relevant balance amount will be transferred to the new tag.
