How to Obtain a PAN Card Online?

Depending on whether you are an Indian citizen or a foreign citizen, you must fill out Form 49A or 49AA when applying for a new PAN card. Keep in mind that this application is primarily for people who don't have a PAN card and have never applied for one. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: Go to the Online PAN Application section of the NSDL website.

Step 2: Determine the type of application you want to use: Changes or Corrections in PAN/Reprint of PAN Card (Foreign Citizens) or Form 49A (Indian Citizens) or 49AA (Foreign Citizens).

Step 3: You have to choose the right category here - Individual, Association of Persons, Group of Persons, Trust, Limited Liability Partnerships, Firm, Government, Hindu Undivided Family, or Artificial Judicial System are the options.

Step 4: Enter the title, last name/surname, first name, middle name, and your date of birth in the DD/MM/YYYY. The date of registration or incorporation has to be filled in for other entities. Fill out the form and submit it.

Step 5: An acknowledgement with a token number will appear on the next page. On this page, click 'Continue with PAN Application Form.’

Step 6: Similar to Form 49A or Form 49AA, you will be directed to fill in more personal information. Fill in all of the required information.

Step 7: You need to choose how you will submit the documents. You have three options for submitting your application documents: a) physically; b) online through digital signature; and c) online through e-sign.

Step 8: List the documents you'll be submitting as proofs of identity, address, and date of birth on the same page. Confirm the declaration, application location, and date. Fill out the form and submit it. Make certain you don't make any errors.

Step 9: After clicking 'Proceed,' you will be directed to the payment options. Choose between a Demand Draft and a Bill Desk Online Payment.

Step 10: If you select Demand Draft, you must first create a DD before proceeding with the application process because you must provide the DD number, date of issue, amount, and name of the bank from which the DD is generated on the portal.

Step 11: If you go with Bill Desk, you can pay with Net Banking.

Step 12: Select 'I agree to the terms of service' and complete the payment process. Whether you send documents separately to Protean eGov Technologies Limited or upload them online, the PAN application fees will vary.

Step 13: You will receive an acknowledgement receipt and a payment receipt if you pay by credit card, debit card, or net banking. The acknowledgement receipt should be printed.

Step 14: With the acknowledgement receipt, attach two recent photographs.

Step 15: After payment has been confirmed, send the supporting documents to Protean eGov Technologies Limited via mail or courier.

Protean eGov Technologies Limited will process your application once your documents are received. The printed PAN card will be mailed to the address provided on the application form.
