Downloading or Printing Aadhaar Card

Aadhaar Card is a single unique identity number given by the Government of India to all citizens. The identity proof is considered to be legal and the most secure one available in the country. Aadhaar card has been a controversial topic since its introduction by the Government. The card is managed by UIDAI, a separate Government body. The safety of the entire pool of personal data with the Government has been the main concern. However, the card has not yet been made mandatory for all transactions and continues to be an optional ID proof. One needs to visit the nearest Aadhaar Centre to apply for the card. Once an Aadhaar card is issued, the online version called E-Aadhaar can be used for many purposes. This E-Aadhaar can also be downloaded and printed.
