What Are The Required Documents For The Renewal Of A Driving License?

1. Driving License:

The most important thing you need to carry while renewing is your original expired driving license. All the basic details are taken from your expired license, so take it with you.

2. Physical Fitness Declaration Form:

Form 1 is important to prove you are medically fit to drive vehicles. You can either download this form from the RTO website or reach your local RTO for the same. The drivers over 50 years of age should dill and submit Form 1-A for physical fitness declaration. The physical check is essential as it certifies you as medically fit to drive vehicles. Even if it is for renewal, this is an essential document that cannot be avoided.

3. Application Form For License Renewal:

To renew your driving license, you can either fill out Form 9 or a form of application for the driving license renewal. You can get the form from the Parivahan website or directly from the nearby RTO office. Also, You must fill in details such as your name, driving license number, address, etc.

4. Proof of age documents:

Another important document is your Age proof to prove your driving license eligibility. Age is an element that cannot be compromised while getting a license, so you need to submit a few documents as age proof for renewing your license. You can use an Aadhaar card for the same.

5. Proof of Address Documents:

Another important document is proof of the address. You can submit any one of the following as an address proof document:

  • Passport
  • Voter’s ID card
  • Aadhaar card

6. 2 Passport Size Photographs:

You should submit your recent two passport-size photographs with your Form 9 or application form. Also, you can either upload online using the Parivahan website or visit your local RTO with the documents to prove your eligibility while applying for DL renewal.

7. No Objection Certificate:

The next is the No Objection Certificate. You need to get a NOC from the RTO that issued your original license if you are moving your residence to another state in India temporarily or permanently. Here, you may be asked to enter your present & permanent address. You can get your NOC from your home RTO. Always remember that the NOC is an essential document for the renewal of a driving license.

What Are The Eligibility Criteria For The Renewal Of A Driving License?

The following are the eligibility criteria for driving license renewal. Only the license holder should apply for the renewal of an expired driving license.

1. A person disqualified from applying for a driving license( any reason) is not eligible to apply for a renewal.

You can easily renew your Driving License online as it requires little effort and time.

The following are the steps you need to follow to renew your driving license online:

1. Go to the Parivahan website or tap the link for the same: https://Parivahan.gov.in/Parivahan/

2. You should place the cursor in the ‘Online Services’ tab and press the ‘Driving License Related Services’ option.

3. The next step is to select the state from the drop-down menu.

4. Next, you need to Choose the RTO from which you like to renew your Driving License.

5. Then, press the ‘Apply Online option.

6. Press the ‘Services on Driving License’ option from the drop-down menu.

7. Next, read the Instructions for Application Submission & press the ‘Continue’ option.

8. Mention the required details such as the Driving License Number, DOB, Category of the Driving License Holder, Apply to State, and RTO boxes and press the ‘Proceed’ option.

9. Verify all the details you have provided & press continue.

10. On the next page, you need to select the services you wish to update and press the ‘Proceed’ option.

11. Select the RENEWAL option, mention the necessary information, and click the ‘Confirm’ button.

12. Before you ‘print’ the acknowledgement statement, read through all the provided details carefully.

13. You need to submit it on the designated date.

14. After the verification process, you will get the new driving license via post.

For license Renewal of Transport vehicles, you must pay Rs.450. For license Renewal of Non-Transport vehicles, the fee is Rs.500.
